Bio I grew up in a small town, Spirit Lake Iowa to be exact. Wow that's way too far back, anyway I moved to La Crosse Wisconsin in the hot and muggy summer of 1995. I had no friends and no money but I was quick to remedy that. I soon began working in a kitchen because it was what I knew best and I knew I could at least eat and make some cash. After a couple of years of bouncing around the bars every night and working for the weekend I realized that I didn't really want to go back to school for anything, I was completely lost. I shortly met a guy that his house had recently caught a flame and needed a place to live. Not quite sure to this day if he had anything to do with it, probably. Long story short, I had an apartment and the guy I rented from had a room for rent. So my new friend had this grand idea to pierce my tongue and I said what the hell, what could be the worst that could happen? We ordered the gear and about three weeks later it came in the mail and we set up shop in a friend’s bathroom and that was the beginning. About a month or two later a new shop opened up in town so we went to check it out and low and behold they needed a piercer, so my new friend got the job while I sat on the side lines hoping and praying that one day I too would become a cool kid. I only had one tattoo at this time, my tongue piercing and some mall wire in my ears, what a burnout. I waited and waited only to wait some more and that day finally came. I was asked “Would you like a piercing apprenticeship?” Of course the answer was hell yes! I will be honest, I only did it to get my foot in the door to become a tattoo artist one day. I worked at Mind Altering for a few months and I ended up moving out to Colorado Springs and worked there for about a year and decided I was going to move back to the home land. So I got a hold of a friend of mine and lined up a job working at his shop in Aimes Iowa. His piercer was leaving and I just happened to be the man for the job. I stuck it out of about another year but something just didn't feel right. I ended moving back La Crosse in 2000 and about a year or so later I was asked to start apprenticing for a tattoo position at the shop and here I am. I recently opened Twisted Skull Studios, located at 206 4th St. South La Crosse, WI 54601.So the new chapter of my life begins. It's been a long and confusing road to get where I am now but it is all starting to pay off.
